New Literacy Tools

I am familiar with a few of the new literacy tools; however, blogging and some of the apps are new to me.  I think the blogs are a useful tool and are an easier format to keep track of than the typical online chat forums.  I think Adobe Connect is extremely helpful and user friendly alternative to meeting face-to-face.  I think the resources will allow me to learn more when (for the most part) it is convenient for me.

Question for group: How much of this technology could be incorporated into our classrooms easily?

  1. I agree, I really like how convenient the tools are! It helps me fit things into my schedule better. In terms of your question, I think it depends on your situation. A lot of schools, like mine, don't have much technology for student use. I've tried having students use their phones for online polls and such, and there have been some "technical difficulties," which might be an issue on my part, or it could have to do with my students' technological literacy skills. I think you could definitely do things like Blogger for homework assignments if students have access to library computers before and after school (in case they don't have internet access at home).

  3. Adobe connect is good when it works, but I have had really bad connection issues. I like using prezi and some phone apps.
